Our journey began in 2007 when we relocated to Wales, lacking any prior restaurant experience. While cooking delicious home-cooked meals was familiar, venturing into the competitive world of commercial restaurants in the UK, with its rich culinary diversity, posed a daunting challenge. Indian cuisine, often generalised and Westernised, dominated the scene, with familiar dishes like Chicken Tikka Masala and Saag Aloo taking precedence.

A renowned figure in the culinary world, Chef Noorie specializes in creating original recipes with fresh ingredients and traditional spices, placing emphasis on rich flavours over intense heat.

Meet Chef Noori

Hailing from Punjab, Noorie inherited her culinary skills from her family, a tradition deeply ingrained in Indian culture. In many Indian households, the ability to cook is considered essential, particularly for girls, even today. It’s a common question in arranged marriages: “Can she cook?” Noorie, having honed her cooking skills from a young age, perfected them by adding her own flair to traditional North Indian dishes. Recognizing that many so-called Indian restaurants serve British-inspired curries under the guise of authentic Indian cuisine, where generic sauces are simply tossed with vegetables or meat and doused in red food coloring, she decided to diverge from the typical Tikka Masalas, Saag Aloo, and Vindaloos. Instead, she embarked on a mission to reintroduce the genuine flavours of India, steering away from shortcuts and focusing on authenticity.

The closest stations to us are Machynlleth or Aberdovey, although they’re not within walking distance. However, they are accessible via public transport for your convenience.

North Indian cuisine offers a diverse range of meat dishes, but it also has plenty to offer vegetarians. At Indiana, we’ve curated a special selection just for vegetarians, offering a variety of dishes with customisable spice levels to suit your preferences.

Banquets are ideal for larger groups as they allow everyone to enjoy a wide variety of dishes together. Unlike ordering individual meals, where you might wonder what others are having, banquets offer the advantage of sampling everything on the table. Our banquet menus include a diverse selection, starting with poppadoms and a variety of starters, followed by a range of meat dishes, vegetables, rice, and naan breads. Depending on the package chosen, you can also opt for seafood and desserts to complete your meal.

Yes, we do provide baby chairs, but it’s necessary to request them at the time of booking.

We only accept lunch bookings with prior arrangement.

Our spacious dining area comfortably seats up to 40 diners, while our cocktail lounge can accommodate an additional 20 guests if needed.
